On the rare occasion we have fizzy drinks at our house - whether soft or alcoholic - we never drink direct from the container, but use glasses. This gets rid of the excess gas and dirt. Too much fizz detracts from the flavour. Go real ale, wine, squash, tap water, fruit juice, or a wee dram. 🎉😂

Hi ladies, the band Def Leppard on Debbies top come from my hometown of Sheffield, Yorkshire.

It seems to be a thing with garden centres here in the UK. There's one in my home town that has been around for as long as I can remember. It started out as a single small building with large open areas selling...plants. But over the years it has morphed into something similar to the one shown here, and is part of an open-air shopping mall with other retailers on site. (Look up Bicester Avenue. ;))

Wow, this makes me realize how much my own country's Dockyard development owes to English naval ports. Being a British colony for some five hundred years, we've had many British military installations built since 1609, and some look identical to some I saw in this video. The aforementioned Dockyard, as we call it, was the Royal Naval base built at the pointy tip of the fishhook shape that our island looks like. It was semi-abandoned in the 1950s and fully abandoned by the 1970s, except for being a port for NATO vessels. But the many Royal Navy buildings lay abandoned, but still standing proud due to their sturdy construction, thankfully. In fact, the barracks building, which was called Casemates, was used as our maximum security prison for many decades, until a newer, more modern facility was built nearby, just outside the Dockyard walls. Nowadays the Bermuda Dockyard is, like Portsmouth itself, very touristy, with most of the old buildings repurposed as retail and restaurant spaces.

Very cool show! Falkland's War was massive in the GB and the whole commonwealth. The British military did a great job and paid a steep price to maintain sovereignty. It was then, and still is, important to the commonwealth that "we never walk alone". You did a great job remaining neutral and showing respect for both sides. It was mostly boys who died on both sides. Many of the soldiers suffered from the extreme conditions, battle wounds and, of course, having their ships blown up right from underneath them. It should have been a cautionary tale - unfortunately, we seem to forget very quickly and plunge headlong into the net conflict.

Land of Hope and Glory is only one piece from a suite of music composed by Edward Elgar called The Pomp and Circumstance suite. It became a favourite in the US when Elgar himself played it at Harvard (or maybe Yale!) University following the presentation of an honorary Master’s degree to him. Note not only the union Jacks, but also flags from all over Europe. The Pomp and Circumstance Marches, of which there are 5 (or 6) were dedicated to Elgar's friends and acquaintances. And were composed in the early 20th century.
